Starting from a device that is fundamentally the same as the original, technological advances have introduced a number of automated procedures, such as maintaining a constant temperature, and have increased the machinery’s safety, which means that routine maintenance operations are now considerably fewer.

This kind of kiln is generally used for newly-felled timber, which is why longer drying is required.
